Bio:

Grant graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Professional Writing by way of the College of Journalism. They gravitated towards Independent Journalism when they left college. It is well of experience they still draw from even though they’re no longer the managing editor for OKC.NET: an entity that at times could be a perfect example of when truth is stranger than fiction.

Grant is a multiracial artist who has always had an affinity for surrealism, magic realism, and anyone making work that plays with branching paths, reflections, self-deception, the subconscious, and hidden worlds. Grant has ramped up their political art making in 2020 starting with a temporary window mural at Resonator Art Institute in Norman, Oklahoma highlighting the rise of Asian Hate Crimes in the wake of Covid-19 to wheatpasting a memorial poster for Bennie Edwards at the site of his death in Oklahoma City. At a recent art show, which celebrated the work of surrealist writer Haruki Murakami, they successfully sold pieces that benefited Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Grant believes political art can be absurdly surreal yet still engage in acts of real world mutual aid.
